That was exactly our experience at Butter + Brie in Pleasantville.
If you're searching for one of the best restaurants in Pleasantville, NY—whether it's for a girls' night, Happy Hour, or a cozy dinner in Westchester—Butter + Brie deserves a place at the top of your list.
My friend and I visited for Wednesday Ladies Night, where Happy Hour pricing is available at the bar all evening. Even better, if you can't make it on Wednesday, Happy Hour is also offered Tuesday through Saturday from 4:00–6:00 PM at the bar.
From the moment we walked in, we loved the warm, homey atmosphere. It feels elevated enough for a special night out while still being welcoming and comfortable. The exceptional service only made the evening even better.
I'm already looking forward to returning with my husband for a date night, and after learning they host paint nights, I know another girls' night is definitely in my future.

🥗 Jicama Seasonal Summer Salad ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This seasonal salad completely stole the show.
Made with crisp jicama, juicy oranges, mango, green beans, tomatoes, coconut, and a bright citrus dressing, every bite tasted fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. It was light without being boring and packed with incredible flavor.
It's one of those dishes that reminds you how amazing simple, seasonal ingredients can be when they're done well.
I'd honestly go back just for this salad.
🍟 Pommes Frites with Gorgonzola & Au Poivre ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
If you're a fry lover, these are absolutely worth ordering.
Perfectly crispy fries are topped with rich Gorgonzola cheese and finished with a flavorful au poivre sauce that makes every bite indulgent without feeling too heavy.
One thing worth knowing—these fries are typically only available at the bar.
We had been enjoying Happy Hour drinks at the bar before moving to our dinner table and couldn't stop eyeing the fries. Since we hadn't ordered any food yet, the staff graciously made an exception and served them with our dinner.
That small gesture perfectly captured the hospitality we experienced all evening.
🧀 Brie Flatbread ⭐⭐⭐⭐½
Creamy Brie, salty prosciutto, peppery arugula, and a crisp flatbread crust came together beautifully.
It's rich without feeling overly heavy and makes a perfect dish to share with the table.
🍤 Sautéed Shrimp Sambal ⭐⭐⭐⭐½
This was a pleasant surprise.
Tender shrimp were served over hearty buckwheat noodles with crispy bacon and tossed in a flavorful sambal sauce that brought just the right amount of heat.
And yes...definitely not kosher. 😂
The salty bacon paired surprisingly well with the slight spice of the sambal, creating a dish that was both comforting and full of bold flavor.
🦪 Mussels Poulette with Garlic Spinach ⭐⭐⭐⭐½
The mussels were fresh, tender, and swimming in a delicious buttery broth that practically begged for extra bread.
Instead of the traditional fries, we substituted the Garlic Spinach, which turned out to be an excellent choice. It was perfectly seasoned and paired beautifully with the richness of the mussels.
🍮 Crème Brûlée ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Sometimes the classics are classics for a reason.
The caramelized sugar cracked beautifully into a silky smooth vanilla custard underneath, making for the perfect sweet ending to an already fantastic meal.
🍸 Sip Spotlight
No girls' night is complete without great cocktails, and Butter + Brie delivered.
I started with a French 75, which was crisp, refreshing, and perfectly balanced—the ideal way to kick off the evening. Later, I switched to a glass of rosé, which paired beautifully with the fresh, seasonal flavors throughout the meal.
The one thing I didn't get to try—but absolutely will next time—is their house-made seasonal sangria.It wasn't quite ready to be served, as it was marinating and aging for the next few days. It was infused with fresh pineapple, coconut, and other seasonal summer ingredients, and it sounded incredible.

One of the things that stood out most about Butter + Brie wasn't just the food—it was how genuinely welcoming everyone made us feel.
The restaurant strikes a wonderful balance between cozy neighborhood charm and an elevated dining experience. It's warm, inviting, and comfortable enough for a casual dinner with friends, yet polished enough for a special occasion or date night.
The staff was attentive without ever being intrusive, and every interaction felt genuinely friendly.
It's those thoughtful touches that turn a great meal into a memorable experience—and Butter + Brie absolutely delivers on both.

Start your evening at the bar—even if you have a dinner reservation.
Not only can you take advantage of Happy Hour (Tuesday–Saturday from 4:00–6:00 PM and all evening on Wednesday Ladies Night), but you'll also have access to menu items that are exclusive to the bar, including the incredible Pommes Frites with Gorgonzola & Au Poivre.
We actually began our evening at the bar before moving to our table. After mentioning how much we had been eyeing the fries, the staff graciously made an exception and served them with our dinner.
That simple act of hospitality perfectly reflected the level of service we experienced throughout the night.
And if you visit while the Jicama Seasonal Summer Salad is still available, don't hesitate—order it. It was one of my favorite dishes of the evening and one I'd happily return just to enjoy again.
